History
Touchstone Builders is a niche general contractor focused on affordable multifamily housing in the greater NYC area. Since its inception in 2004, Touchstone and its subsidiaries have completed more than $350,000,000 of multifamily construction projects consisting primarily of affordable housing in Westchester County and NYC. The firm is owned and managed by Sean Gann and Mark Beida. The two principals have each spent more than 30 years managing construction and development projects in the New York market. They actively oversee each project undertaken by the firm. Touchstone’s experienced team of professionals, long term bonding and banking relationships, and conservative risk management protocols have allowed the company to grow and thrive over its 20+ year history.
Experience
As an expert in affordable housing, Touchstone Builders is well-versed in dealing with the complex mix of requirements often imposed by public agencies such as HUD, NYSHCR, NYCHPD, etc. Whether high-rise new construction on a congested NYC site, a gut renovation of scattered site townhouses, or an occupied rehab with residents in place - our team has encountered nearly every challenge a housing development project can present. Through this experience, Touchstone has developed a specialized set of core competencies that our partners find both valuable and unique in the marketplace. Owners and development teams leverage this expertise by involving us from the pre-development phase of their projects through close-out and turnover to property management.

Touchstone believes that construction projects need not be adversarial. Instead, we view each as a partnership where collaboration, integrity, and fair dealing are the foundation of each project. We value long term relationships, whether they are with developers who trust us with each project they undertake or subcontractors and suppliers who we rely on year after year.
