The Willow is an 8-story, mixed-use, affordable housing development located in the Port Morris neighborhood of the Bronx. The building includes 10,000 SF of retail space as well as tenant amenities such as a beautiful glass enclosed resident lounge, rooftop terrace, and bicycle storage.
The Willow is enrolled in the Brownfield Cleanup Program, and the environmental scope included contaminated soil removal, enhanced vapor barrier system, sub-membrane depressurization system, and a 295’ long secant “cut-off” wall to restrict contaminated groundwater flow.
This “block and plank” structure is supported by a foundation system including over 300 piles drilled and driven to bedrock. The project team has achieved more than 400% of the NYCHPD Minority / Women - owned business participation goals.
