Madison House consisted of the occupied, tenant-in-place rehab of 99 apartments in downtown White Plains, NY. The scope of work also included extensive facade improvements, structural renovations to a parking garage, and full updating of all common areas.
The project included deep energy retrofits such as replacement of the inefficient steam heating system (boilers and distribution) with a hydronic system, including a new condensing boiler plant and panel radiators in each apartment. A combined heat and power (cogen) plant was added, which generates electricity on-site, while heating domestic hot water.
Madison House received a NY Energy Smart Building certification. Energy savings were confirmed at 41% (not including CHP) + over 1 million gallons of water / year.
